Cigars

Our humidor is one of the things regulars mention most, and it pairs naturally with the whiskey side of the store. Picking up a single stick for the weekend, or looking for something to go with a bottle you just bought? Ask — we'll suggest a pairing.

In the humidor

Bourbon-barrel cigars

Some cigars are aged in used bourbon barrels or made with barrel-aged tobacco, picking up sweeter, oakier notes. A natural fit if bourbon is already your thing.

We carry a wide range of brands and the humidor rotates regularly. Tell us what you like and we'll find something.

Brands you'll often find in the humidor include Macanudo, Punch, Arturo Fuente, La Aroma de Cuba, Acid, Jaime Garcia, La Aurora and Cazadores — plus limited-edition Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace cigars for the bourbon drinkers. Selection changes, so call ahead if you're after something specific.

Choosing a cigar

Pairing with whiskey

Match intensity to intensity. A milder cigar suits a lighter, lower-proof pour; a fuller-bodied cigar stands up to barrel proof without either overwhelming the other.

Ring gauge and length

Ring gauge is the diameter in 64ths of an inch — larger generally means a cooler, slower smoke. Length mostly affects how long it lasts, not how strong it tastes.

Storage

Cigars need humidity to stay in good condition. Buying more than a couple? Ask about storage — dried-out cigars smoke harshly and can't really be brought back.

Singles vs. boxes

Common questions

What brands do you carry?

A lot of them — the humidor is deep and the selection rotates. Rather than list brands that go in and out of stock, call us or stop in and we'll walk you through what's there now.

Can you recommend a cigar to go with a bottle I'm buying?

Yes — that's one of our favorite questions. Tell us what you're drinking and we'll suggest a pairing.
